Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 28, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit this website (the “Site”), which provides currency exchange information for informational and reference purposes only.

We use third-party services such as Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Cloudflare services (including performance measurement modules like speed.cloudflare.com/meta), and we host the Site on Cloudflare’s global cloud network. These providers process certain information about visitors to operate, secure, and improve the Site and to show advertising.

“Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Where the law requires consent (for example, for analytics or advertising cookies), we rely on your consent obtained via our consent tools or browser settings.

1. Who we are and scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Site and the related online services we provide. It does not apply to:

  • Third-party websites, apps, or services that we link to but do not control.
  • Independent privacy practices of Google, Cloudflare, or any other third-party provider. Their own privacy policies govern their processing.

You should review the privacy notices of Google and Cloudflare to understand how they handle your data as independent controllers for certain processing activities.

2. Information we do not intentionally collect

At this time:

  • We do not offer user registration or accounts on the Site.
  • We do not intentionally collect information such as your name, email address, postal address, or password through the Site.
  • We do not maintain user profiles or perform direct marketing based on data you provide to us via forms on the Site (because such forms are not offered currently).

However, certain technical and usage data are processed automatically as described below (for example by Cloudflare, Google Analytics, and AdSense).

3. Information collected automatically

When you access or use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information from your browser and device. This typically includes: (Help Google)

  • IP address and approximate location (e.g., country or city inferred from IP).
  • Browser type and version, operating system, preferred language.
  • Device information (such as screen resolution and device identifiers used by analytics tools).
  • Dates, times, and duration of your visits.
  • URLs of pages viewed, referrer URLs, and basic interaction data (such as scrolls, clicks, or error codes).
  • Network performance metrics (for example, latency, jitter, connection quality) when using Cloudflare speed-testing functionality.

This data is processed mainly through:

3.1 Google Analytics (usage and performance measurement)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (for example, which pages are visited and how often) and to improve content and performance. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize your browser or device and to generate reports for us.

According to Google’s guidelines, we must disclose that:

  • We and Google use cookies and identifiers to collect data about your use of the Site.
  • Google processes this data to provide analytics services and may combine it with information from other sites that use Google’s services.
  • We do not send information that directly identifies you (such as your name or email) to Google Analytics.

You can learn more in Google’s documentation on how it uses cookies and analytics data.

3.2 Google AdSense and advertising partners

We use Google AdSense to display ads on the Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to: (Help Google)

  • Serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
  • Measure ad performance and prevent fraud.
  • Show more relevant ads (for example, based on broad interests or general location).

In particular:

  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can manage or opt out of Google’s personalized advertising in Google’s ad settings and via industry opt-out mechanisms, where available.

Our Privacy Policy must clearly disclose our use of AdSense, cookies, and third-party ad networks, and provide information on your choices, as required by Google’s program policies.

3.3 Cloudflare hosting, security, and performance

The Site is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare, which acts as our content delivery and security provider. When you visit the Site, your requests typically pass through Cloudflare’s network, which processes: (cloudflare.com)

  • IP address, request headers, and basic routing data.
  • Information necessary for caching, DDoS protection, firewall rules, and performance optimization.
  • Logs used for debugging, security incident detection, and aggregated analytics.

Cloudflare processes this metadata on our behalf under its data processing terms and, for some products, as an independent controller under its own Privacy Policy.

3.4 Cloudflare speed test and performance metrics (speed.cloudflare.com/meta)

The Site may integrate Cloudflare’s speed testing functionality (for example via speed.cloudflare.com or related modules). If you choose to use this feature: (speed.cloudflare.com)

  • The test measures the quality of your internet connection (such as download/upload speed, latency, jitter, and route performance) between your device and Cloudflare’s network.
  • Technical metrics and your IP address are sent directly to Cloudflare to run the test and to contribute to performance analytics.
  • These data are used to provide you with test results and for Cloudflare’s ongoing optimization of its global network.

Cloudflare explains its handling of performance data in its documentation and privacy materials.

4. Client-side storage (localStorage)

The Site actively uses localStorage in your browser to save user preferences and settings for your convenience, for example:

  • Last-used base and quote currencies.
  • Calculator settings, display options, or favorite currency pairs.
  • Other configuration necessary to restore your preferred view of the converter.

Important points:

  • These values are stored only in your browser. We do not design our backend to read or extract your localStorage contents.
  • From our perspective, localStorage acts as a user-side “memory” so you do not have to reconfigure the converter each time you return.
  • Because localStorage is data stored and accessed on your device, it may still be subject to privacy and e-privacy rules; we treat it as strictly necessary for providing user-requested functionality (saving your own settings) and we do not use it to track you across sites.

You can clear or disable localStorage in your browser settings; doing so may reset your preferences on the Site.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases: (cloudflare.com)

  • Legitimate interests To operate and secure the Site (Cloudflare hosting, logs, basic security), to measure basic usage in an aggregated manner, and to prevent fraud and abuse—provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Consent For placing and reading non-essential cookies and similar technologies (such as Google Analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and certain localStorage uses that go beyond strictly necessary preferences), as required by GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and Google’s own policies.
  • Compliance with legal obligations To the extent we must retain or disclose certain information to comply with law, court orders, or requests from competent authorities.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time via our consent tools (where available) or browser settings; this will not affect processing that has already occurred.

6. How we use the information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and its features (for example, showing accurate currency information and user preferences).
  • Secure the Site, prevent fraud, detect and mitigate abuse or attacks (with help from Cloudflare and similar services).
  • Measure and improve Site performance, reliability, and usability (using Cloudflare metrics and Google Analytics).
  • Show, measure, and improve advertising on the Site (using Google AdSense and its partners).
  • Comply with applicable laws, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and those of others.

We do not use the Site to make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about individual users.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, we share information with the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers / processors Third-party vendors that provide hosting, security, content delivery, performance measurement, analytics, and similar services (such as Cloudflare and Google Analytics), under appropriate data protection terms.
  • Advertising partners Google AdSense and its advertising partners may receive or set cookies and identifiers to serve and measure ads, which can be considered “sharing” or “sale” of personal information under certain privacy laws.
  • Legal and safety recipients Public authorities, regulators, courts, or other third parties where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect our rights, security, or property (or those of others).

Any further sharing will occur only with your consent or where required or permitted by law.

8. International data transfers

Because we rely on global providers such as Google and Cloudflare, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one where you reside, including the United States and other jurisdictions where these providers operate data centers.

Where required by law, we take steps to ensure that cross-border transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses and/or comparable mechanisms used by our service providers).

9. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including:

  • Short-term technical logs for security and troubleshooting (typically maintained by Cloudflare and our hosting stack).
  • Aggregated analytics data within Google Analytics, subject to retention settings available in that tool.
  • Advertisers’ data according to their own retention schedules.

We aim to minimize retention and use aggregation or pseudonymization where feasible. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right of access (to know whether we process data about you and obtain a copy).
  • Right to rectification (correction of inaccurate data).
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances.
  • Right to restriction of processing.
  • Right to object to certain processing (including processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing).
  • Right to data portability (to receive certain data in a portable format).
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

For residents of certain U.S. states (such as California), additional rights may include:

  • Right to know categories of personal information collected, used, disclosed, and “shared” or “sold”.
  • Right to request deletion of personal information, with some exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided at the end of this Policy. We may need to verify your identity before responding where permitted by law.

11. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in their jurisdiction, where higher).

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under such age. If we become aware that we have collected such information without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect information processed through the Site, including:

  • Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
  • Cloudflare’s security services (such as web application firewall, DDoS protection, and network-level protections).

However, no internet service can be completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Site.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information or using their services.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, where required by law, provide additional notice (for example, via a banner or email, if applicable).

Your continued use of the Site after the updated Policy becomes effective means that you accept the changes.
